Mini Session Preparation Guide
Hello, I'm Monika, your photographer
Thank you for choosing me to photograph your family. Mini sessions are short, relaxed and full of real connection. Your children do not need to sit still, and you do not need to know how to pose.
These tips are here to help you feel prepared. Take what works for your family, and let me know what matters to you. This session is yours.
YOUR MINI SESSION
Mini sessions last around 25 minutes, so we will keep things simple and easy. We will make time for cuddles, laughter, movement and a little chaos.
Everyone is welcome, including furry family members. The goal is to capture your family just as you are.
BEFORE THE SESSION
- Give yourself time. Get ready without rushing and arrive a few minutes early.
- Eat and rest. A snack and a little rest helps everyone feel ready.
- Keep plans easy. A calm lead up to the session can make a big difference.
- Plan your journey. Check traffic, parking and the meeting point beforehand.
WHAT TO BRING
- An easy to carry bag with essentials only.
- Water and a few non messy snacks for children.
- Wipes for little hands, messy snacks or runny noses.
- A cosy blanket or favourite toy, if your family would enjoy one.
WHAT TO WEAR
Wear something comfortable that makes you feel happy and confident. You do not need to match exactly.
- Soft neutrals, earthy tones and bright colours can all look lovely.
- Avoid large logos and very busy patterns if you want the focus to stay on faces.
- Bring an extra layer, as North East weather can surprise us.
DURING YOUR SESSION
- Relax and have fun. Laugh, play, cuddle and perhaps be a little silly.
- Let children lead. I will follow their moods and personalities.
- Forget forced smiles. The best moments are real and imperfect.
- Take your time. I will gently guide you so everyone feels comfortable.
AFTER YOUR MINI SESSION
Celebrate with a small treat, such as ice cream or a trip to the playground, to keep the good memories going.
- Sneak peeks will arrive within 2 days.
- Your proofing gallery will be ready in up to 3 weeks.
- You can buy extra photographs, upgrade to the full gallery or order fine art prints and albums.
