Natural photography in the North East
I’m Monika, a mum, a wife, and a photographer with a deep love for quiet, meaningful moments. I live in Newcastle upon Tyne with my family, and I truly feel at home here.
Motherhood changed the way I see everything. It made me realise how quickly moments pass: the way tiny hands reach for yours, the way your baby fits perfectly in your arms, and the ordinary moments that become your most important memories.
Inspired by love, light and nature
My approach is relaxed and natural. There is no pressure, no forced posing, and no expectation of perfection. I gently guide you when needed, but mostly I observe and let your story unfold naturally.
Before settling in Newcastle, I spent years photographing families and newborns in London. Today I work with families across Newcastle and the North East, at home, outdoors, and by the sea.
Most of my work is with families who live in Newcastle and the North East: newborn sessions at home, maternity portraits on the Northumberland coast, annual family sessions, engagements, graduations and headshots.
A good part of my work is also with people visiting the UK rather than living here. From my London years onwards I have photographed many families travelling from the United States, and I still do: vacation sessions in London and Edinburgh, and family trips to the North East. Planning across time zones, fitting a session into one free morning of a packed itinerary, and working with children who are jet-lagged and up at five are all familiar territory. Everything is arranged by email or WhatsApp before you fly, and your gallery is delivered online wherever you are.
I have photographed families professionally since 2018, first in London and, since 2024, from Newcastle upon Tyne. Hundreds of sessions and more than 100 five-star Google reviews sit behind that, including many newborn sessions, which are the ones that most reward a calm, practised pair of hands.
I photograph on location in natural light only, so there is no studio to travel to and nothing to rehearse. I bring the guidance; you bring your family as they are.
