Hello, I’m Monika, a mum and natural light newborn photographer, happily settled in Newcastle upon Tyne after six years as a full-time family photographer in London. Over the past two years, families across the North East have welcomed me into their homes to capture their most precious moments. Additionally, some lovely clients still invite me to travel to London and Edinburgh too!

First, contact me to choose the perfect package, date, and location for your newborn session. After that, a deposit will secure your booking, and you’ll complete a quick questionnaire to help me understand your expectations. In addition, you’ll receive a handy prep guide with tips on what to wear and how to prepare, ensuring everything runs smoothly
DURING YOUR NEWBORN SESSION
The newborn session is a relaxed and baby-led experience, honouring your family’s unique dynamics. Moreover, it’s a warm and welcoming time filled with cuddles, laughter, and love. Meanwhile, I’ll offer gentle guidance on posing and provide support, while our focus remains on authenticity and genuine connections.
AFTER YOUR NEWBORN SESSION
First, you’ll receive a little sneak peek within two days. Then, I’ll carefully select and edit the best photographs. Finally, your beautiful online gallery will be ready within three weeks. Additionally, you’ll have the option to order high-quality, locally handcrafted albums, prints, and wall art.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should we book a newborn session?
Many clients like to schedule sessions around the 20-week scan, but it’s okay if you prefer later. Some book last-minute sessions after the baby’s arrival, if lucky. To avoid disappointment, I recommend booking 2-3 months in advance. We will pencil in a date, and once the baby arrives, we’ll confirm all the details.
Is my house suitable for a newborn photoshoot?
Your home is perfect just as it is! We don’t need much, just access to some windows for natural light. Whether your home is a studio apartment or a grand mansion, it’s ideal for capturing beautiful moments with your newborn. Embracing your home as part of the images will make them even more special and personal to you.
When is the best time for a newborn session?
The sweet spot is usually within the first two weeks when your little one is super sleepy and cuddly. But don’t worry, we can capture precious moments up to 12 weeks after birth too! Just keep in mind, the older they get, the more aware and less like a newborn they look.
Can we have a newborn photoshoot outdoors?
Absolutely! We can definitely arrange an outdoor photoshoot. While many of my clients prefer sessions at home for the convenience and intimacy they offer, outdoor shoots can be equally charming! Whether it’s amidst lush greenery or by the seaside, the choice is entirely yours. Pick a place that holds a special meaning for you, and let’s capture this wonderful moment in your family’s journey, celebrating the newest addition to your family
What if I am camera shy?
Don’t worry, you’re not alone. Many people feel that way. But don’t let it stop you from capturing sweet memories with your family. I’ll help you relax and feel comfortable so that I can capture your best side without any awkward posing.
What is the best time of the day for the photoshoot?
The best time for an outdoor photo session is typically early in the morning or late in the evening, when the natural light is soft and diffuse. For in-home sessions, mid-morning is typically a good time to schedule.It’s also important to keep in mind the needs of any children who will be participating in the session, and to schedule the session at a time when they are rested, fed, and happy.
